GENX chambers - July 2021.jpg

The Greenhouse gas Emissions NeXus (GENX) is the newest experiment in Smithsonian's Global Change Research Wetland (GCReW), started in 2021. GENX consists of a series of automated flux chambers scattered across a soil warming gradient focused on quantifying the impacts of multiple ecosystem stressors (warming and elevated CO2) on carbon cycling in tidal wetlands. GENX is supported by the US Department of Energy Environmental System Science program.
